The John Feeney Charitable Trust generously supported Arts Leaders with £5,000, contributing to a programme for five young Leaders from diverse backgrounds, creating opportunities to develop their careers in choral and orchestral music, develop transferable skills, lead community orchestras and choirs, gain experience conducting, and work alongside industry professionals. As a result of The John Feeney Charitable Trust contribution, the programme has developed the employability skills of marginalised young people in classical music, with 100% of our participants securing long term employment or training through their experience at TPO.

Through this project, we have achieved:

− Developing long-term careers of 5 young Leaders from underrepresented backgrounds, with 20% identifying as LGBTQ+, 40% male, 40% female, and 60% from areas of high socio-economic disadvantage.

− Contributed to increasing diversity within the sector by creating accessible routes to leadership, with 40% of participants from global majority backgrounds

− 100% of Arts Leaders securing long term employment or training as a result of their experience at TPO

− TPO is a disabled-led organisation, so we were able to support and cater for individuals with disabilities (40% of Arts Leaders), supporting representation of marginalised communities in our sector
